Good byes are hard! This past weekend our family lost another one of our beloved dogs. Mira was dearly loved and belonged to my daughter’s family. She was a chocolate lab, so lovable and a faithful friend!
A couple months back my son’s family lost Moxie, a maltipoo. She was a constant companion and brought much joy to all our lives.
Both dogs lived long lives for their breed. The geriatric years for both dogs were tough. The pain, the loss of eyesight, the loss of hearing and all the rest. No doubt, the hardest part of having a pet is the good bye. Parting truly is such sweet sorrow. As hard as it is to say good bye, we are all relieved that they are no longer suffering.
Our family has one dog left to carry the torch for the other two and has big shoes to fill. Dak is a big black lab and could not be any smarter or sweeter. He belongs to my youngest daughter and her husband. It’s hard not to see Dak as human, as he seems to understand our English language quite well. I know he will be up to the task of watching over all and loving each of us!
Love runs deep! Pets are family and the pain we feel as we lose them is immeasurable.
Thank you God, for giving us pets, we love them well and cry many tears as we lose them. They fill so many places in our hearts and love without expectation! They know our deepest secrets and have often offered us comfort. Our true hope is that one day, we will meet at that rainbow bridge and enter heaven together! 🙏
I thought I would share a few pictures of what loving pets looks like in my family. A couple of the pictures are the last good byes! The teary eyes say it all!! Rest in peace our precious furry friends!❤️
Feel free to post and share your stories and your pets… still with you or who have moved on!!
Thank you for your friendship and your support on my author journey!! 📚
